Transition Health
and Wellness
find balance by embracing change

Hi! I'm Jess. I've been on a journey to discover true health, wellness and balance my entire adult life. It's frustrating to feel like you are taking all the right steps but not ending up at the destination you expected. I've studied and worked with medicinal plants for 20 years. I live an active outdoor lifestyle in the perfect landscape. I own an organic cold pressed juice bar cafe. I have been gathering information, gaining experience, working hard for what feels right. So much "doing". While traveling on this path I have found a sense of purpose, but not a sense of wellness or balance.
This past fall, I enrolled in a 200 hour yoga teacher training that was presented in weekend modules over 5 months. This is when I started to experience internal shifts towards stillness and clarity. Immersing myself in the study of Yoga (not just asana) provided me the opportunity to tune in to what I already know - my own unique truth. I was able to allow myself to remain in the present moment in a way I had not ever allowed myself before. What I experienced was an internal blossoming. This may sound cliche..I get it. But, it was profound. It spilled over into every part of my life because it was a fundamental change in the way I experience the world. The way I experience myself, my relationships, my work. Life is a constant experience of transition. From moment to moment, to big life changes. By practicing mindfulness, I realized that my experience of transition got easier, less resistant. I learned that if I can allow myself to be in the moment without resistance, I stop looking for distraction. I stop worrying about the past or the future. I learned that I can feel good, feel incredible, just by simply being. Stepping into life in a much more present way facilitates a less reactive, more available relationship to myself and others. I interact in a deeper, more loving way. I am no longer battling cravings or having a hard time staying on track with what I know is best for me. Rather, I am confident with knowledge and experience I have gathered to support my health and vitality daily and I am enlivened and inspired to use the tools in my toolbox. I'm learning to align my "to do list" with my life's purpose. Work is not exhausting me in the way it used to and my health goals are no longer feeling overwhelming or unattainable. I needed to slow down entirely to TRUST where I am. To be with myself, then, to just be. Now, I am ready to take the next step on my path, to take the next branch in the trail. I have always enjoyed sharing what I learn and experience. My life's work lies in supporting others as we find our way to health and wellness. I have focused on building a foundation of knowledge in nutrition, yoga, herbs and nature. These are the four pillars that keep me well, happy, thriving. By attending to my relationship with these four things, I have become a better, healthier, happier version of myself. I have developed a belief that our sense of balance is derived from our experience of movement (transition/change).Through this blog I will be exploring information and tools that can inform our process of relating to what we call "balance"! Introducing: Transition Health and Wellness Food • Yoga • Herbs • Nature Transition: The process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another A change of an atom, nucleus, electron, etc from one quantum state to another, with emission or absorption of radiation I believe each of our state of health is directly related to how we adapt to change ~ how we move through it. This is the experience of our daily life. These are the questions I am interested in exploring with you:
Through Transition Health and Wellness, I will be offering one on one consultation, small group workshops, meal planning/prep, personal chef services, herbal apothecary, yoga and guided explorations in nature. What is it that you REALLY want? * Welcoming participants beginning May 2019 [email protected] "Desire, instead of being an obstacle to an inspired and fulfilled life, is the very thing that propels you toward it.
